My blog turns one today. I admit to some surprise at writing this post as I started the blog just as a way to advocate my own ideas on the city and push back against the seemingly overwhelming tide of bad ideas, bad policies and bad analysis with which we’re plagued. (Interestingly I’ve learned that bad ideas, bad policies and bad analysis are not uniquely an Amsterdam phenomenon but a global one as well if you look at the economic crisis as just one example. )
I was never sure that this blog would capture an audience as it just sits on the Web with no marketing, no advertising, no promotion . In fact, I never even mentioned it to my friends as I was a bit curious if the blog would evolve organically and survive or if it would just shrivel and die a natural death. Yet somehow more and more people –looking at my blog traffic– seem to be visiting and joining the fray day-by-day.
Thanks for stopping by.
