From today’s Recorder on conflicts of interest:
The Amsterdam committee established four months ago to study the feasibility of relocating City Hall has yet to hold an initial meeting, a process that may be further delayed by potential conflicts of interest.
“I work here,” Isabel said of the Tesiero-owned WCSS radio station. “Maybe it’s better for me to ask one of the other council members to chair the committee.”
Also still on the committee is Peter Capobianco, Tesiero’s lease manager of the Key Bank building. It would be the committee’s decision whether Capobianco should remain on the committee, said Isabel.
Kudos for Mr. Isabel for stating what often never gets stated but frankly, how can a committee be established with such self-evident conflicts of interest at the get-go?
